Marva Collins 2014
Revolutionary educator Marva Collins has agreed to come to NZ and speak in 2014. Marva's work over many years have achieved high acclaim and her work has been featured in several books including 'The Marva Collins Way' and also been made into a movie.

Description
How to teach a child to read, starting from the beginning. This session will be suitable for parents with young children who want to be prepared in advance for teaching their children to read, for parents who have children who are just starting to learn to read and for parents of older children who are having difficulty with reading. |
Description
Maths Part 1 – this session will cover teaching counting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and telling the time. We will be looking at various resources and equipment, the ideas will be useful for all maths programmes. |
There are no reading & maths seminars currently running. Further information will be posted here about the next seminars.
About the facilitator: Dorinda Duthie is facilitating both these sessions. Dorinda is a trained primary school teacher, veteran homeschooler and SPELD tutor. She has taught many children to read, write and do maths successfully and now she is turning her attention to training parents to do the same. Dorinda also is still actively involved in tutoring and her focus is on teaching practical skills that really work.
